I’ve painted the night sky, the sea and the rain
Greens leaves, busy streets, and superstar fame
Well, what if I want to paint life?
Two lovers in a park; a blood stained knife?
What if I wanted to illustrate emotions?
Love me, need me. Hate me, leave me.
How am I to express the disappointment of losing a job?
And who can pencil in the love of mother to child?
It can’t be seen with the eyes, nor drawn with the hand.
Maybe it’s not real.

I feel as though I should explain the writing style with this.

At first it's in an ABAB rhyme scheme because the narrator is in an artist's state-of-mind. All poetic and nicely sounding. To illustrate how real life is, the bottom half of the poem lacks a rhyme scheme, because in real life nothing really fits together so smoothly and sometimes you can't find an answer for what you're looking for.

Basically an artist's struggle over depicting things that you can't see in just a picture.
